  • Working on Skype Chat Service
• Microsoft June 2015 - August 2015 Software Engineer Intern
  • Worked on the Real Time Media team for Skype
  • Created a system profiler for encoding and decoding performance
    • Written in C++
    • Encoded and decoded video on machines to determine max throughput
    • Built a script to run the profiler and create graphs of the results
    • Did some preliminary analysis on the data

  Co-op Applications Engineer
  • Worked on a cross-cutting application feature
    • Allowed for scoping of data that was previously available globally
    • Refactored many pages that interface with the data to respect the new model
    • Updating almost all of the integration tests for data access to expect scoped data
    • Modified application code and database queries
  • Integrated security into an existing feature
    • Refactored most of the interface to handle the new security model
    • Refactored half of the server code relating to the feature
    • Updated many existing integration tests that relied on the old permissions model
  • Managed multiple feature branches
    • In charge of maintaining the feature branch, and keeping it up to date with the stable branch
    • Ensured no breakages or regressions introduced by code on the branch
    • Pushed code to the stable branch

  • Designed and constructed a server for use in a cluster systems
    • Installed GAMESS and Gaussian
    • Added the server as a node on the cluster
